One of my cherished FPV moments is when i recently got into the hobby after I moved to Ohio. Seeing the city at night with the dazzling lights along the river made an image in my head that i would love to see it from the skies. Once I got into drones, I realized that I can make this vision I had, a reality. I was fairly accustomed to flying over a field, but doing it over water frightened me. A co-worker of mine wanted to see what FPV was like, and brought me down to a good spot to do it. I was nervous flying over the water, but the experience was awesome. He liked it so much, he wanted to get into it as well. Although I never got a chance to refly the same spot with my HD system, at least I still have my recording of that flight. Now I need a new 5 inch frame to get the same drone up and running again, I hope to keep spreading the love for FPV

Yeah. When I wanted to buy a SpeedyBee Bee35, I had to reconstruct it by buying all the parts separately due to the PNP's being all sold out, then piece them together with the tweaks and add-ons I wanted. In the end, I got exactly what i wanted. I think it would be nice to have the spare parts afterwards though 😅

Got this to protect the camera and on my 75 Pro. Thas when I found out the bracket doesn't fit the HDZero Lux, so 3D printed TPU 19mm bracket was needed to make it work

I started off Nov. 2024. I was taking my FAA test to become a aircraft mechanic on a computer. Someone came into the test room, and what I heard what he was muttering to himself sounded like remote pilot questions. That got me thinking on how getting into drones would be pretty useful and cool. Since that moment, I was set on getting into drones. I started off building a 10" readytosky mark 4 on analog, EV800DM box goggles, analog monitor as backup and recording, and a RM boxer. I've been used to being cautious with big equipment for my first attempt on things, so I made sure to be safe on first flight by practicing on a sim for about a week. Focusing on fundamentals and practicing crashing and what to do in case something happens with the real thing. Great first flight in a wide open field, but did have a bit too much fun and forgot about batteries aren't infinite 😅. Recovered, and been on it since getting smaller sizes as time goes.

Usually when there is Video on, but no OSD displayed, it's due to the the VTX is getting power, but the UART is not mapped properly, or the TX and RX cables are reversed. Check your programming app to verify your VTX  is on the right selected UART connected to the board. Then check if the TX cable on the VTX is routed to the RX on the FC, and TX on the FC is routed to the RX on the VTX. Not sure if the OSD was working before you took it to the park, or maybe something got disconnected while traveling.

If you want to go microwhoops, I've been having great time with the Meteor 75 Pro in analog, I wound up building one out for HDZero and Walksnail respectively

Good VTX

Baught CiottiFPV custom build to test out my VRX. Unfortunately when went to bind my VRX, the boards were just close enough to ark with the press of the bind button. It survived and swapped to a new AIO, and flying great over the past couple weeks. Getting about 3 minutes moderate freestyle flights with vtx on 500mw on a 1S 75 meteor Pro clone.

Good frame, WS Moonlight plate needed

I started off this drone originally building out its BNF kit since they were sold out for a long time with HDZero Freestyle V2 VTX set up, and worked great. Later when I went to try out the Walksnail Moonlight kit with it. The VTX module is too big to fit into the stock bottom plate, and the Antennae shafts are too thick to fit into the dual antenna holes without modification. Luckily there are STLs available to print out to get these to work for the drone. overall good choice for a cheap cinewhoop frame.

Good cheap way to get into Walksnail Avatar system

Going from analog, to HDZero, to Walksnail through the VRX has saved me from buying another set of goggles to try another system. It's a bit of a process on getting the system synced firmware for the VRX and VTX when starting off, but after the first time, it's a lot easier afterwards. Thanks to D3VL for consolidating the firmware. https://walksnail.app/firmware
