It’s free, runs on almost anything, requires no install, saves your best lap times. Has a full map editor. You can adjust both your drone setup and world physics, race against ghosts, import and export your worlds to share with friends and a bunch more.

This is a really special moment for me. I know that DIYFPV helps so many pilots enjoy our hobby and the DIYFPV simulator is another tool that will get more people flying and enjoying the skies. I put so many hours into making this and it feels crazy that its now live and people can enjoy it.

Finally found the time to fly some long range FPV. Drove out to a place called german gulch. And, of course, I picked the windiest day to do it! It was gusting so hard at times, I thought it was going to blow my quad right off of the mountain. All and all, I got some great shots. Needless to say, I had to stabilize my footage to make the flight work! There is a little glitch in the editing towards the end of the flight, it’s not a stabilization problem, it’s an editing problem. I couldn’t get the files to sync up properly. I am thinking to buy the echo but I heard that echo’s dvr sucks. But being able to change the battery’s on echo is a really good feature. Which one?

This quad hasn’t been in the air for quite a while. I have been too busy learning how to freestyle to give it the well earned air time that it deserves. The weather is good today, the trees, bushes and grasses are all green. Nice day for something! So I’m going to shake down this long range quad just for the fun of it. If anyone is interested, I built a new tool because the existing stick overlay utilities didn’t quite fit my needs:

It uses your Blackbox log to create a MOV file with a transparent background. You can then import it into your preferred video editor, place it in a layer above your footage, and resize or reposition it as desired.

Here is a usage example:

In the first video I uploaded using this tool, the yaw was inverted. Using `--invert-yaw` fixes the issue, but I didn’t notice until after posting. Here is a new flight with the correct stick positions.

If you want to record longer Blackbox logs for this purpose, just only record the stick commands, and use the slowest logging rate:
