Just flew and crashed my first FPV drone, lol. Shattered my ND filter, but hey thats better than the camera!

Hiya! I'm new to this site and am interested in learning anything about FPV drones. I'm going to use some time today to start some research on Youtube to learn the basics. I'm excited to learn about what works, what doesn't, and maybe build my own someday soon, time willing :)

My background is in 3D graphics/game dev and I feel FPV drones could be a fun way to learn more electronics and get myself into a new hobby that I can enjoy with my kids.

Already a year in with the sims, still couldn't get my hands on an actual set of quads. Too many setbacks and responsibilities. it is rather sad to be honest to think that maybe fpv is not for me. But it was enjoyable to watch the youtube vids of other enjoying it and somewhat get to feel how its like to fly an fpv quad in the sims. Maybe in the future, who knows but right now, the feeling of wanting to enjoy flying an fpv quad is diminishing slowly. I might want to lay-off fpv thoughts for now.

But nonetheless, i just wanna say i wish everyone in here will have a great 2026 and i hope everyone do enjoy every moment you have doing the things you love. Peace out, guys ! 😄

This is a weekend whoop race that HTWC ran including camping options at an extremely reasonable price.

Joined up after watching @NickFPV 's video and thought it would be a good place to start. I'm a long time 3D printing and flight sim hobbyist and wanted to get into something a bit more "real" as one could say.

Most of the stuff I fly in sims is long-range and observation, as someone who also does Airsoft on and off I wanted to start making a drone capable of doing that sort of stuff, and decided here is the best place for it.
