Which size do you guys think that it is the best size for a beginner pilot?

What KV are you running on your FPV quads? Specifically, are you using 2207 motors under 2000KV or above 2000KV? I'm trying to decide between 1750KV and 2050KV for my new build.(prop suggestions perhaps?)

SOLVED!! I bought a GEPRC Maten Pro.
In need of some help deciding on a new vtx. There are a few options out there. Either MMCX or a u.FL antenna mount and a 20x20 or 25.5x25.5 mounting solution..

Another filter suggestion: Include/Exclude and And/Or
if it's applicable, having filters be able to exclude certain options instead of including would be nice. A good example of this in practice: https://tweakers.net/drones/vergelijken/ (mind you, this website is in Dutch).

If this wasn't suggested already (in which case my post may be removed), I would like to suggest a "europe" filter (or just a region filter) in the Marketplace tab. This would be convenient since shipping inside europe is more reliable than anyting overseas and I would like to only shop inside europe (but would not like to specify the country).

the new fpv channel organiser is sick. Just a suggestion, i was thinking of some (maybe opt out or opt in) feature that would underline fpv words in posts and let you hover over them to view their definition. maybe make it so that you could press a button to "learn" the words so the underline will dissapear or something?
for example(making crude ascii art of what im imagining),
my radio is acting up
----^-------------------------------
A radio, also known as a controller
is what is used to control an fpv
drone.

I was thinking about buying the aetherFPV arch type drone frame

how good/bad is it?

How do I convince my parents to buy me an FPV drone for posting cinematic videos on youtube?

hello everyone I have a question. so I built a 6s quad and had gotten a bad camera that didnt work so I had tooken the caddx and camera from my 3s quad because it can run 6s and it worked fine until I got a new camera and put the caddx ant in my darwin fov babyape v3 pro and the video was all squigly and black and wight and I thought a antenna might have popped of but it didnt i tried a new antenna and vtx both did not fix it. Anyone might know whats wrong?

How should I fix this battery the other end is still there and I can shove it back into place but I don't really trust it.

Ok so which DJI setup should I go with on the goggles/camera options? I don't quite grasp the different air units, cameras, goggles well... and I've never looked through any personally, but I'm thinking I'm upgrading bcuz my analog goggles suck, and i can't see myself hundreds on a good set of analog goggles when I really want the HD picture...any advice or answers would be appreciated!

This is a dam and it stands about 80 feet and on the other side there is a bridge about 40 feet long perfect for power looping as a beginner and there is a bunch of pretty sunsets and sunrises in this area. I want to fly hear there is also an entire soccer field to the right which could be cool along with the playground all good for freestyling.

Some times, not all the time an image upload fails. Dunno if I'm doing wrong or it is a glitch. At least I'm now getting an error message as I did not previously.

FPV Tool Suggestion: One thing I had a lot of trouble with starting out was figuring out what charging settings and so on were correct for my 2S batteries (I am still a little uncertain about things). An interactive tool where you could enter your battery info (sizes cells types etc.) and get feed back on balance charge rates - storage charge rates and info about what the IR internal resistance should be expected and anything battery related. I think I would like to use this if it existed. I don't know if this already exists elsewhere or is this just a dumb noob idea?
Completely agree with Toms - this was genuinely a great nudge in the right direction. A well-designed battery helper could save newcomers (and honestly, plenty of experienced pilots too) from a lot of uncertainty.
We’ll make sure the tool covers the points you mentioned: recommended charge/storage rates, IR expectations by cell type, and safe ranges for aging packs. Additional things we’ve already thought about including:
* Nominal, storage, minimum, and maximum voltages per cell
* Safe discharge current estimates (C-rate calculation)
* Puffing indicators and when a pack should be retired
* How temperature affects charging and performance
* Charging safety tips (Lipo bags, fireproof surfaces, what not to do)
* Cycle tracking (rough life expectancy for different chemistries — LiPo, HV, LiIon)
* Balance lead & main lead health checks
* Signs of internal damage after a crash
* Charging warnings (e.g., never charge above X voltage per cell, avoid fast-charging if IR is high)
* Expected flight times for different quad sizes with that battery
* Storage tips (humidity, temperature, how long they can sit at 100% safely)
* How IR changes with temperature and age
* Safe disposal guidelines
Basically, something that takes away the “am I doing this right?” feeling we all had at the start - and sometimes still do.

The Air65 Took a Beating - Here’s What Broke and What to Watch Out For
After fixing up the Air65 and then beating it up, it has become very clear what to look out for when buying or building a whoop.
The first thing I noticed on the Air65 is the motor wire and soldering quality - and let’s just say, it leaves a lot to be desired. After a few crashes, the motor wires tend to become brittle and snap right next to the AIO pads. I suspect this happens because the solder doesn’t flow far enough under the wire insulation. A better approach might be to use more flux and make sure the solder wets the wire slightly under the insulation. Alternatively, solder the wire so the insulation sits as close to the pad as possible - I suspect this could give more support and help the solder bond to a larger section of the wire. I’ll test this out and report back in a bit.
The second major issue is the antenna connector. After a harder crash, the antenna can partially or fully disconnect, which can fry the VTX (that’s what happened to our Mobula6). The worst part is when it only comes loose slightly - it’s much harder to notice. So, here’s a big reminder: after any big crash, before every flight, and after every flight, always check that your VTX antenna is firmly attached!
I’ve seen plenty of posts online about RXs and VTXs refusing to cooperate on these AIO boards, and it’s not the end of the world since there are great nano RX and VTX replacements available. But it highlights another issue: the lack of UART ports and analog video out (VOUT).
Until recently, I hadn’t looked too closely at our Air65, but when the VTX started acting up, I did some digging. It turns out that the Air65 uses the BetaFPV G4 4-in-1 AIO - not a bad board overall - but it doesn’t have a VOUT pad (video with OSD out). This doesn’t stop you from wiring in a separate VTX (you can connect the VIN directly to the camera’s VOUT), but you’ll lose your OSD, which for me is pretty essential. So here’s another lesson learned: when buying or building a whoop, make sure your AIO has a VOUT pad and at least one free UART for the VTX, as these components are prone to failure.
It might also be worth getting some UV resin to secure wires and the VTX antenna - this won’t guarantee that nothing breaks, but it can help prevent the most common issues.
Lastly, keep an eye out for AIOs with motor connectors instead of direct-soldered motor wires. It makes motor replacement infinitely easier, but the tradeoff is that it adds a bit of weight. And speaking of motors - always keep a few spares on hand, because sooner or later, after a crash, one will inevitably give out.
