PROJECT WALKSNAIL COBRA X V4.

Here are some mods/3d prints I've been working on to make the Skyzone Cobra X V4 more comfortable when I have the Ascent VRX connected to them.

I have printed a rear head strap from the Oculus vr headset, mounted a 2x 18650 battery holder with power switch and run a retractable power cable to suit.

I was using a barrel splitter to power the VRX and goggles but was getting a low battery warning from the VRX. So I went back to the goggles being powered by its 18650 and the VRX powered by the 2 18650s.

Face foam and nose guard have been changed to DJI V1/V2 goggles. This has reduced the light leak down to nothing and a lot more comfortable.

The Ascent VRX is connected to the goggles with 2 velco pads attached to the back of the VRX and front of the goggles.

For anyone with a pair of Fatshark Echo goggles that don't have a HDMI input, it is still possible to connect the digital Ascent VRX to them. It is done using an cheap Upscaler box. I connect the VRX to the Upscaler via HDMI cable, then I connect the goggle to the box via RCA to 3.5mm AV cable. I'm not saying it will be crystal clear digital, but it's better than analog flicker. I will also add that the DVR in the Fatshark's is terrible so the picture that you see in the goggles is better than the recording.

This build is one of the most fun quads I've had. Wind doesn't seem to affect it, its agile and can handle my shithouse freestyle with no prop wash. Definitely an outdoor ripper on 2s. Range is surprisingly good aswell.

DJI Goggle 2 or Goggles N3? Which one would be the better value?I can get the goggles 2 for cheaper than N3 but will be second hand. I plan to mainly use 04 system but if i get the G2 then i would also be open to trying 03 aswell. Any info is appreciated.

Can anyone tell me what these goggles are. I can see they are iFlight but cant find anything else like model or name. Thanks for any help

I'm am really happy with how it has turned out. I'm use to flying either 3s whoop or Pavo20 Pro so I was amazed at the hang time i get from this little beast. I need to find a bigger park. Lol.

My latest build. Most components out of my pig whoop build but I was getting bad vibration while throttling in the mobula8 frame. Now I'm using a Hglrc Talon carbon composite top plate for the base plate , 1104 4300kv no name motors, Hglrc Zeus Nano vtx, Caddx Ratel 2 camera, Foxeer 5.8ghz antenna, custom 3d printed TPU95 canopy and battery holder. I am using CNHL 3s 550mah batteries. It getting much better flight stability now but I think I want a little more power. 😈

Can anyone else confirm that they are having problems getting fpv gear from Aliexpress? In the past 2 weeks ive had 3 vtx's (all seperate orders) stopped at export customs and returned for refund. I just want a vtx to finish a build. This feels like the fpv Gods are forcing me into a DJI system i think.
