It seems likely that the fault lies in the power supply of the internal module. Without a circuit diagram, it is difficult to narrow down the possible components. Try contacting RM support. They have the measurement points and their values.

the new internal module works as long as it gets power from the external module, haven't been able to figure out where the issue is on the mainboard

the thing is... external modules work.....

TX16S MKII internal module faulty?
hi so... my old internal 4in1 module died in my tx16s... I ordered a new one... and it arived dead..... am I to asume there is a bit more to it than that? and either something is killing them or this was just a coinsidance EDIT: it's the mainboard 2S rail that's damaged, any ideas?

Did you wire it? If so, where did you wire it to? I think all of the 1s vtxs are rated for 3.1-13v, so its impossible for a 2s quad to make enough voltage to fry it... right? Unless you plugged in a higher voltage battery of course.
Also, if its a bnf and it just smoked when you plugged in. They should totally replace it.

ye.... it's a bnf and I didn't wire it... I just noticed the shitty wiring when I took it apart... also.. it's a 2S lihv... and at peak... it can do like 35A .... even tho it's a 2inch.... and.... THEY DIDN'T EVEN USE A CAPACITOR... + the AIO that THEY themselves make.... has a port for shit like dji HD.... which u can use for literary all other VTX's too.... + it has a 2A 9V buck converter... that u can turn on an off.... so not only stable voltage but it won't overheat 5seconds into plugging it in.... (edit... I did message them... they didn't respond yet.. but I'd be more than ok with just a new vtx... cause god damn...)

not really.... nope... if I had a thermal camera I bet it would be a breze to diagnose the faulty component....

Man... What happened exactly, and are there any lights turning on? Those symptoms pretty much mean it's dead. Also what do you mean by debug pins?
