ill take a pic later but it required a kit since the top plate and CNC camera mounts were both changed

I converted my Volador 3.5 to th DJI 04 camera setup via the inexpensive Flyfish parts kit. I am just over 250g on 4s and 265 on 6S - I need to shave weight! or find a lighter frame.

This thing beats the hell out of my meteor75 in regards to stability and wind mitigation, and now video quality but.. I don't see myself trusting a crash as much in the 3.5 vs. the smaller whoop.

Things to note are that I had to hard solder the 04 do the FC/speedybee mini and ND filters do not fit between the new supports.

and I mean, buy frames! those little mounting nubs are so fragile.

So with all of my great experiences with both the M75 pro and the o4 version, I would skip the o4 as it is very fragile for a beginner. Go with good ole analog to start.  I get much less range with my m75 pro analog than my o4, but I am not as worried every time I crash that I am going to dislodge the non-replicable camera.

if you decide to go with the o4 go with a 2S setup so you don't 'fall out of the sky' when the voltage gets too low on the 1S.

buy extra frames, and props!

The Meteor75 continues to amaze me. I decided to figure out the jello issue and traced it down to a motor bell that was not concentric, causing vibrations. after swapping that I am much more steady.

I decided to test the range/distance that I can 'safely' fly today with my Meteor75 pro o4

I got about .5mi / .8km before I started getting nervous. I did not choose a path with direct line of sight/no trees, I just went a little higher as the signal dipped.

setup: hqprop 45mm - BetaFPV Blue 550mah 1S - went from full 4.35 to about 3.5 after the return leg

I think the next run ill drive farther and fly towards home so I can find it easier when it falls out of the sky.

Did I get crap ND filters? they were FPVtosky branded in a case, and there are 6 of them. 2 of them I tried today have a ring around the bottom where it looks like the original light is peeking through.

I really like my Volador 3.5 - it even has o4 support now if needed.
I have crashed dozens of times and had no breakage.

Still getting more confident and learning how to fly, and im very new to manual mode on the avata2. I think I experienced what is known as the death roll - but I recovered. has anyone else had the stutter and totally lost confidence?

I tried to side by side the goggles and drone feed - and no correction or stabilization done to the video.

5 second mark on the YouTube video

thank you!

had a great session today with my Vapor D5 o4 and my avata2.. noticed this new piece of equipment at one of my 2 local 'OK' spots to fly. Am I paranoid thinking it is some sort of drone detection equipment, or is it just a bird feeder - haha

I dont remember that being there last time I flew there.

Had a great few days of flying my meteor75 o4 but... ran into a snag ( tree ) that is probably both a design flaw and a sales/support issue.

1) I crashed - it wasn't a bad crash, tree branch then to ground. the meteor75 canopy is mounted to the frame by 3 screws that are probably not the right ones, deep enough, or maybe too wide. I dont know I am not the designer. The 4 mounting posts are weak and break off. not an issue swap a $5 frame ( twice now )

2) same crash - the DJI 04 air unit camera cable popped off. I popped it back on and now I have an IMU error on screen with no way to clear it. I have full video and recording but the UI shows IMU error. I have re-seated the able and checked pins. As far as I can tell it looks good - no bent pins or anything broken. Reached out to DJI and they suggest service BUT..

3) warranty/service. I bought the meteror75 directly from betafpv in china. Because of this the 04 air unit is not eligible for service in the USA. I have to mail the unit back to betafpv, then they mail it to dji and they will pass through any charges if it is considered out of warranty.

4) DJI does not sell just the camera/parts for the O4 air unit yet.

I got my Meteor75 pro O4 and wow - I regret every analog purchase I have made at this point(kidding).

Quality, Range and footage is superior. While I am actually happy I got to learn how to deal with analog issues and blown out VTX's,channel selection vs environments and the other analog heartburn, I feel like I should have taken the easy route and just went digital. Going to be hard to go back to the eachine EV800D's!

I would keep it as basic and light as possible and skip the GPS for a 3.5 light freestyle.

it is a bit dark. I need to learn to fly before I learn to edit for YouTube!

I have 2 of these 3.5 voladors, 4S 1505 and a 6S 1604 based.. the 4S is barely under 250g with 650mah batteries and the 6S is barely over with 550mah. both have speedybee mini FC/ESC and a TX800.  I am pretty sure the 1804 will be over 250g even with tpu removed ( if that matters to you )

Let's take flight together and elevate the world of FPV drones to new heights.
